Now in its second generation, the 2018 Honda Ridgeline pickup shares some of its underpinnings with the new-for-2016 three-row Honda Pilot SUV. The unit-body pickup comes only as a Crew Cab with a short box and features a flat bed with an in-bed trunk, dual-action tailgate, and rear 60/40 split bench seat.

Overview

2018 Ridgeline First Drive
After a brief hiatus, the 2018 Honda Ridgeline returned for a second generation in the 2017 model year. With the automaker’s history of giving its models a refresh for their fourth model year, we only expect mild trim and feature revisions in its second year, 2018 (we’ll update this space as soon as we have official info). Although the new Ridgeline has many of the same features as the first-gen model, the new model features a more traditional pickup look.

The 2017 model’s 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 with variable cylinder management and optional auto start/stop tech will likely carry over. The engine currently makes 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. We also expect the rest of the drivetrain to carryover including the six-speed automatic transmission and available variable-torque management (i-VTM4) all-wheel-drive system with rear torque vectoring and intelligent traction management.
